Selena Gomez revealed many details about her coming LP, “Revival,” in a radio interview with "The Toby Knapp Show." The “Heart Wants What It Wants” singer has tried new material on the album and is very excited for people to hear it.
“The album is so different,” Gomez told Knapp on his radio show, according to Idolator. “There’s so many different kinds of music on the record, so I’m excited for people to hear everything,” added the singer. She has previously released “Good For You” from the album and we are also aware that she has recorded yet another song, titled, “Same Old You,” too. The latter has lyrics written by Charlie XCX.
But the former Disney star revealed that there is one song on the album that is inspired by her real life. “There’s a song about kindness on the album that I think is insane,” Gomez said, adding that the song resembles her 2011 hit song, “Who Says."
“It’s so true and authentic to who I am. I was trying to find another ‘Who Says’ because that’s one of my favorite songs that I’ve ever done,” she said. Gomez is confident that the new album will make her fans “really excited” as the pop starlet also worked with many new collaborators.
For Gomez, working with new people resulted in a lot of experience. “Sometimes it worked, sometimes it didn’t work and I would just go into the studio and I spent so much time trying to figure out what would make this record special,” said Gomez. She also told Knapp that she has a huge urge “to bring out something inside of my voice that I’ve not done yet.”
“Revival” comes oct on Oct. 9. Check out her radio interview below.
