Tekken 7 Gets A New Gameplay Trailer

The release of the long-awaited Tekken 7 isn’t far off now, and leading up to its launch we’ve been getting lots of new information lately. Today we have a brand new gameplay trailer to check out, which features over 5 minutes of footage showing off various characters from the game duking it out. You can see it for yourself at the bottom of this post.

While the footage doesn’t show many surprises for anyone who has been following the game closely, it still gives a great look at the game’s roster and stages. It’s also mixed in with plenty of cinematics, which are looking fantastic. It’s said that this installment in the series will have more of an emphasis on story, and hopefully the Tekken team came up with one that’s worth playing through.

We recently learned about the improvements that players will experience when playing the game on PlayStation 4 Pro. The series’ producer, Katsuhiro Harada, said that there is a noticeable difference in graphical quality when playing it on Sony’s newest console. He also mentioned that they don’t have any details on the Xbox Scorpio in order to develop for that platform, so he can’t confirm if the game will eventually get Scorpio improvements.

He also discussed the possibilities of the game ever coming to the Nintendo Switch, though things aren’t looking promising for the time being. Harada claims that they do not have access to the Switch console currently, making it hard for them to test it and see if Tekken 7 might be something that could be compatible with it. He didn’t rule out the possibility entirely, but for now Switch owners will not be getting the latest entry in the Tekken series.

Tekken 7 will launch for PlayStation 4, Xbox One and PC on June 2nd. Be sure to check out the new gameplay footage below.
