Fallout 4 Creation Kit update, Mass Effect Andromeda news, PlayStation VR release date

The Fallout 4 Creation Kit will arrive in April, Bethesda has confirmed

Bethesda has revealed more on their plans to release Fallout 4's much-wanted Creation Kit and mod support on PC, Xbox One and PS4.
The new tools will help fans make bigger and better mods that can be shared on PC, the studio has also announced that they want to see some of the top choices ported to Xbox One and PS4.
Bethesda has stayed quiet on when the Fallout 4 mod support would be launched, the last update was back in 2015 before the game's official release.
Director Todd Howard has finally spilled the beans on when fans can expect to see some of these new mod features to drop and it looks like April will be the month, following the launch of the first Fallout DLC release, Automatron.
Speaking to Game Informer, Howard revealed: "Our goal is between the first two DLCs.
"It’ll go up at that time on PC. In April. All of that stuff will go up on PC. People are beta testing it.
"There’ll be a lag on consoles. We want to get it up on PC and have it work.
"It’ll probably be a good month before it hits Xbox One, and another month for PlayStation 4...
"[The projects] aren’t all the same scale, but they are longer term. We’re also doing DLC, and Fallout Shelter, creation kit, and mod stuff, updating the game – we’ve got a lot going on."

More has been revealed on the large Far Harbor Fallout 4 DLC set to be released by Bethesda later in 2016.
Out of the three DLCs confirmed for launch in 2016, Fallout 4: Far Harbor is the only one that looks to add a whole new area to the map.
It has also been revealed that Far Harbor is also a real place, much like how the original Fallout 4 map is filled with real locations.
Eurogamer's Tom Phillips shed more light on the quiet area in Maine, explaining: "Bar Harbor is around five hours drive north from Boston itself, up the New England coastline and then out along the overhanging Eastern seaboard. Drive another couple of hours and you're in Canada. It's pretty remote."
Fans should also prepare for some forest exploration as Bar Harbor is also confirmed to have a lot of it, making it a perfect location for the feral feel Bethesda says the new content will include.
"Far Harbor features the largest landmass for an add-on that we’ve ever created, filled with new faction quests, settlements, lethal creatures and dungeons. Become more powerful with new, higher-level armor and weapons. The choices are all yours," Bethesda adds.
If it is anything like Point Lookout from Fallout 3, then fans are in for a treat, that DLC was perfect for those wanting a harder challenge and a chance to carry on exploring; it was packed full of new locations and fun quests to follow.

More changes abound at BioWare and for Mass Effect: Andromeda following the news that lead writer Chris Schlerf has left the company to link up with Destiny developer Bungie following a two-year spell.
It is unclear just how far along the final story is for the Xbox One, PS4 and PC release, the fourth instalment in the Mass Effect franchise is expected to launch in the holiday period of 2016.
Schlerf had previously worked for 343 Industries, and one of his duties at BioWare involved: "Expansion of traditional BioWare storytelling tools and techniques into new areas leveraging increased player choice and agency, in-world narrative, and asynchronous storytelling.
The writer confirmed his big move on Twitter, telling followers: "To confirm what some folks asked about a few months back, I am no longer working on ME:A at BioWare Montreal.
"Sincerely one of the best experiences of my career – I'm incredibly grateful to have worked with such talented and truly wonderful human beings.
"Think MEA is really gonna blow people away; couldn't be prouder to be part of it, and excited like a little kid to play the final when it's out.
"All that said, very happy to be back in Seattle, working with this scrappy little company called Bungie that some of you may have heard of."

'Star Citizen' PC Version Release Date, News: Game's Release Still Uncertain as Creator Talks Development

Star Citizen

For the past few months, there has been little or no official announcements made about the rumored 2016 release of "Star Citizen" PC version, and though there is still no specific release date given, the executive team has something to explain.
Given that fans have been requesting for the PC version, it's a little surprising for some that there have been no official discussions recently. However, creator Chris Roberts finally spoke up in a recent interview with BBC, explaining that there is so much more to crowdfunded games than what fans expect.
"One of the oxymorons of crowdfunding is you're asking for money to make this game, but you don't know how much money you're going to get. Unless you just want to pocket the rest of the money, which isn't my thing at all; I want to make the best game possible," he explained.
The game is one of the most unique titles in the gaming industry, not only because it is a crowdfunded project but the developers are fairly transparent to the people who support the project, unlike other games that don't open their fans and supporters to the development world.
Roberts went on to explain that it's not just "Star Citizen" that gets delayed and pushed back. He then admitted that the issue may be lying in the lack of communication that developers have, especially those in the crowdfunding sect. While a lot of issues are going on inside the working table, the public continues to push and demand, mainly because they aren't sure of what's going on.
"We can all do a better job," the creator said, referring to the transparency in terms of crowdfunded titles. He also said he thinks he will be opening the doors of the development team for fans to see in case he works on another crowdfunded game.
Another issue that Roberts discussed is the huge number of people wanting to check in with the game's progress, making the development much more complicated. Since there are a lot of people who want to join in, there are also a lot of people who want to tell the main development team what to do.
On the other hand, Roberts is thankful for the support and optimism that fans are showering on the team. He said the people's support is an encouragement to him and everyone else working to deliver the highly anticipated game.
Meanwhile, expectations are higher than mountains on the side of the people who backed the game with over $100 million to date. Since there is a lot of money at stake, fans and gamers are expecting that the game should meet expectations to make up for the support.

Amazing cyberpunk adventures on show in Soul Axiom launch trailer

What is this and why hasn’t it been wired into my cortex already?

Soul Axiom releases next week, apparently, so here’s a launch trailer for it. I had only been tangentially aware of the existence of this game until about 5 minutes ago, and now I very much want to put it in my life and love it and raise it as my own. Behold:

How does someone manage to sneak a full-fledged first-person cyberpunk adventure past me? I’m slipping in my dotage, I really am. Soul Axiom boasts 15 hours of gameplay during which you’ll explore 40 locations, collecting new powers to solve puzzles and make your way to one of multiple possible endings.
You’ll be able to grab it on Steam on February 29, although it’s currently available in Early Access form.
By the way, Soul Axiom garnered a bit of attention back in September 2015 when a Wales Interactive staffer claimed a YouTuber asked for $22,000 to provide coverage of the game.

One Piece Burning Blood: Blackbeard Confirmed, New Story Mode Trailer Spoils Character Deaths

There’s plenty of excitement over One Piece: Burning Blood, a fighting game that features characters and locations from the beloved anime. Set in the Marineford arc, Luffy and his crew must face off against Blackbeard in an epic battle, a lot of which may have been spoiled in the video below. Anyone interested in One Piece: Burning Blood may want to avoid the trailer, while those who have already watched the anime or read the manga will already know what happened. There are plenty of explosions, wild techniques and even death, which is surprising to see in a game trailer, though it might be catered to those who are already One Piece fans. Gematsu has confirmed that Marshall D. Teach aka Blackbeard will be one of the playable characters in One Piece: Burning Blood. The villain is showcased well in the trailer below and proves to be a force that won’t be easy to beat. It looks like Luffy and his crew will have their hands full with this guy. Fans of the series will be happy to know that they will be able to play the Marineford arc through multiple perspectives. This should add more depth and intrigue to the story while also adding to the villain’s main motivations. With tons of action and cutscenes with great visuals, it seems that One Piece: Burning Blood is a fighting game that fans of the series can get excited for. Prior to this, most of the One Piece video games had Dynasty Warriors-style gameplay, since Omega Force developed it. One Piece: Burning Blood will be available on the PS4, Xbox One and PS Vita on May 31 for North America and June 3 for Europe. Bandai Namco has confirmed that a PC version of the anime fighter will also be available in June.

Killer Instinct Season 3 Trailer Shows Off Halo’s Arbiter

image description

After being teased last month, the new trailer for Killer Instinct finally reveals the Arbiter in full as he is the latest character to join the season three roster.

Microsoft and Iron Galaxy are gearing up to release the third season of their popular fighting game, Killer Instinct, sometime next month. While there’s still a lot of details that have yet to be released (such as the price point, full roster of characters, and new changes that are coming to the title), a new character has finally been given his own trailer after teasing the Arbiter joining the roster last month at the Killer Instinct World Cup.
Thanks to the official Halo YouTube channel, fans are finally able to see just how the Arbiter is going to play in the fighting game. As expected, Arbiter’s stage is the Elite home planet of Sanghelios during its civil war, which players are able to experience in Halo 5: Guardians. Since this is a fighting game centered around melee weapons, Arbiter favors his energy sword, though during certain combos a storm rifle does make an appearance as well. As the match continues, the stage crumbles around the two combatants as statues fall apart, ships crash, and general chaos erupts in the background – making for a thrilling if not distracting battle.

What’s also interesting to note here is that famed Halo developer, 343 Industries, is credited with assisting Iron Galaxy with development on Arbiter. No doubt the studio helped provide Halo related assets such as the character model and the background stage which looks ripped right from the beautiful looking Halo 5: Guardians itself. As good as everything looks, the one disappointing aspect seems to be that voice actor Keith David does not appear to be lending his vocals to the character.
With this news, Halo’s Arbiter joins the likes of returning fighter Kim Wu and another guest character in the Battletoad Rash. Fans got a lot of hands-on time with Rash a few months ago after the character was briefly added to the roster so fans could beta test him. Kim Wu on the other hand was just recently announced during the same venue that initial teased Arbi. Fans are expecting to see Tusk (another series veteran) prior to launch as well, but so far developer Iron Galaxy has been pretty hush hush on what fans should expect to see on day one.
While new drops have been somewhat few, far, and in between for season 3, one of the bigger announcements for the game came during E3 last year when Microsoft confirmed that Killer Instinct would be heading to PC as well. With this new functionality, fans are expecting to see cross-platform play between the Xbox One and PC, something that Street Fighter V recently pulled off last week between the PlayStation 4 and PC platforms after it launched.
Are you excited for the third season of Killer Instinct? Which other characters are you hoping to see in the game? Let us know your thoughts below.

New ADR1FT Trailer Brings Astronaut Dreams To Life

A new trailer from Three One Zero's upcoming space-survival game, Adr1ft, has been making the rounds around the news sphere. The trailer is mostly an accolades piece highlighting all the celebratory praise that the game has received from many mainstream gaming and tech outlets.

PC Gamer picked up on the latest trailer for Adr1ft, which you can check out below.

The game's development is being headed up by the one and only Adam Orth. Some of you might remember him from a few years back as a creative lead under the Microsoft banner who ended up getting engaged in an online Twitter argument with gamers over always-on DRM, telling them to “deal with it” after a hacker named SuperDae leaked news that the Xbox One was going to potentially utilize always-on DRM.

Since that explosive Twitter moment that resulted in “Deal with it” becoming a meme within gaming, Orth took a backseat from the spotlight and has kept his head low, working with the rest of Three One Zero on the highly anticipated Adr1ft. The game could best be considered as a mix of the movie Gravity meets Cargo.

Players will have to attempt to discover what happened on the space station they were on and why it suffered a massive catastrophe. As seemingly the sole survivor of the expedition, the player-character suffers from a minor case of amnesia after waking up in the middle of space with a hole in their extreme environment suit. This results in players having to desperately seek out canisters of oxygen while trying to find ways to repair their suit.

Adr1ft takes a solemn, almost eerily lonely approach to exploration due to the silence and awe-inspiring vastness of space itself. Some of the sequences and the design architecture that they've showcased in a few other gameplay trailers reminded me a lot of cruder versions of Stanley Kubrick's set designs for 2001: A Space Odyssey.

Now for those of you wondering if this is just a space version of a walking simulator, the simple answer is: no.

You will do more than just float around and look at pretty environments and destroyed space station vessels. In addition to seeking out oxygen and attempting to repair the EEV suit, there's also various data logs and information that players will need to scout out and find to understand how the space station was blown to pieces, this includes investigating a variety of the vessel modules and finding audio logs and other trinkets to help piece the puzzle together. It's not unlike Alien: Isolation or Slender: The Arrival just without a killer alien or a killer ghost hunting you down.

Adr1ft is designed to be VR-ready, so if you have a PC with a quad-core and a GTX 970 or R9 290 then you should be primed and ready to play the game with a VR headset.

You can look to grab Three One Zero's first-person space survival game on March 28th next month when it launches on Steam for PC.

Shiness Shows Gameplay in New Trailer

Focus Home Interactive released a new gameplay trailer for Enigami's upcoming action RPG, Shiness: The Lightning Kingdom. The video, viewable below, shows the five distinct playable characters in combat as well as an offering a quick snippet of exploration in the game.
Shiness takes place on the fragmented planet Mahera, where conflict is affecting multiple kingdoms on its floating islands. Players take control of Chado and his companions after they crash-land their airship onto one of the more hostile islands. The game is planned for release at some point in 2016 for PC, Mac, Linux, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One.

'Persona 5' release date rumors: RPG game to come out this summer?

Fans of the upcoming RPG game titled "Persona 5" have been on the lookout for the official release date of the game. Now, new rumors suggest that it will likely come out this summer.
The rumored summer release of "Persona 5" has been circulating online after the Japanese video game retailer Animate shared a photo (below) on their Twitter handle the poster ad in their store.

The poster is a positive indication that the game developer Atlus has hit the ground running for the promotional campaigns of the game. Even though the timeline for the game's release is clearer, the ad could only confirm the release window and not the specific release date of the title.
According to Gematsu, in an interview with Dengeki PlayStation magazine, Atlas CEO Naoto Hiraoka said: "In 2015, we were able to develop existing IP like 'Persona 4: Dancing All Night' and 'Etrian Mystery Dungeon.' In 2016, starting with 'Odin Sphere: Leifthrasir,' we plan to release a large number of titles. In the summer, we'll launch the long-awaited 'Persona 5.' Of course, in addition to that we have several unannounced titles."
Meanwhile, new "Persona 5" game modes include the Cooperation mode and the Sneak mode.
The Cooperation mode allows gamers to take advantage of developing social links and non-playable characters relationships as a way of gaining the upper hand. The Sneak Mode, on the other hand, allows players to evade new elements in the dungeons.
Gamers can still use the All-Out-Attack mode which is capable of combining attacks when the opponent is KO-ed.
"Persona 5" is also expected to have four main characters—the Phantom, Ryuji Sakamoto, Anne Takamaki, and Morgana.
The Phantom, who is garbed with a bird mask, is equipped with knives and pistols. Ryuji Sakamoto's look include sporting a skull mask and uses shotguns and bludgeoning weapons. Anne Takamaki is a blond girl who wears a cat mask and prefers to use whips and machine guns. Lastly, Morgana is a cat capable of an attack using swords and slingshots.

This is how Microsoft is integrating its Android apps into Cyanogen OS

Microsoft announced a deal to bundle its Android apps on Cyanogen OS last year. The deal includes deep integration of Microsoft’s Cortana digital assistant, allowing it to replace Google Now functionality. We’ve heard a lot about this partnership, but Cyanogen is now demonstrating exactly how these apps integrate further than normal Android ones.
Cortana is voice-activated on Cyanogen, just like it is on Windows Phone, and it allows you to access additional commands like "take a selfie" or "turn on airplane mode" that wouldn’t work on iOS and Android. These are fairly basic additions, but it’s easy to imagine even deeper integration in the browser and elsewhere for Cortana on Cyanogen in the future.
Microsoft is demonstrating some of that deeper integration in its Skype and Hyperlapse apps for Cyanogen. Skype is integrated directly into the dialer, so you can make a regular call and switch to Skype just like FaceTime or Skype on Windows Phone. Even OneNote is integrated into the dialer here, allowing you to make notes while you’re on a call and have them attached to that contact.

Cyanogen Hyperlapse integration
Microsoft’s Hyperlapse app makes its way into the default camera on Cyanogen, allowing you to pick it from a selection of camera modes that look very similar to the original concept of Windows Phone’s Lenses. All of this forms part of Cyanogen’s new Mod platform that it announced today. It allows third-party apps to deeply integrate into its Android OS. Aside from Microsoft’s own apps, this means apps like Instagram or Twitter can display content on the Cyanogen OS lock screen, or anti-spam apps can catch messages before they reach a handset.
It feels like Windows Phone is living on inside Cyanogen OS
Alongside the Skype integration, camera features, and lock screen customization, it all feels like some of Windows Phone’s more unique features are living on inside of Cyanogen OS. Microsoft’s own ideas of extending apps throughout the OS never really caught on for developers on its own platform, but they might have a better chance inside Cyanogen OS thanks to the fact most handsets can access the Google Play Store. That might push developers to extend their reach into Cyanogen OS, providing the company can convince even more handset makers to ship its operating system.

Microsoft’s Lumia 650 looks and feels way better than the Lumia 950

abcd

Microsoft’s Lumia 950 was bland, uninspired, plasticky, and looked like any other low-end Lumia that Microsoft has been churning out over the past year. The problem was that it wasn’t low-end Lumia, and for its $650 price tag we expected a lot more. Microsoft might not be putting a lot of design effort into its flagship Windows 10 phones, but it’s certainly paying some attention to its latest budget Lumia.
Announced last week, the latest Lumia 650 is designed for businesses and priced at just $199. I got a chance to get a closer look at the Lumia 650 at Mobile World Congress today, and for the price point I’m impressed. It looks and feels so much better than the Lumia 950 that it’s stunning that Microsoft didn’t pick this design for its premium handsets. It still has the familiar Lumia design, but the aluminum frame makes it feel far less plasticky and more comfortable to hold.
It’s also really lightweight at just 122 grams, and a good size thanks to its 5-inch AMOLED display. Unfortunately, it’s still a mid-range device, so it has Qualcomm's underpowered Snapdragon 212 processor inside and just 1GB of RAM. These low specs mean Microsoft’s special Continuum feature (to turn the phone into a PC) isn’t present, so it’s just the regular features of Windows 10 Mobile for the most part.
It’s stunning that Microsoft didn’t pick this design for its premium handsets
If Microsoft could cram flagship features and specifications into a device as lightweight as this then it might give Windows 10 Mobile a better chance. Good Windows phone hardware won’t help address the lack of apps on the platform and ecosystem issues, but at least the hardware wouldn’t be a let down for those eager to use Windows 10 Mobile.

First Trailer for Kanye West Video Game 'Only One' Revealed

The game is based on the artist's song of the same name. Like that track the Only One video game focuses on West's mother, Donda West. In the game players guide Donda "to the highest gates of heaven by holding her to the light." Which is represented quite literally in this debut trailer.
The footage premiered at the release party for his new album, "The Life of Pablo." West addressed the crowd after the trailer played, exclaiming "That's not easy to do, man!"
According to West the game has been in development for about a year and half, though there is no release date, or even an announced platforms, as of yet.

‘Hardcore Henry’ Trailer: Action Cinema Goes First-Person

hardcore henry trailer

I’m fascinated by how the language of video games has begun to leak into filmmaking. As gaming has become more commonplace and mainstream, a new generation of directors raised with controllers in their hands have begun to blend the mediums. And you don’t just see this in big, dumb action movies – the stylistically ambitious drama Son of Saul bears a distinctive video game thumbprint, whether anyone wants to admit it or not.
But Hardcore Henry wears its video game influences on its sleeve in a huge way and it is very much a big, dumb action movie, albeit one of the more ambitious big, dumb action movies to come around in quite some time. A new trailer for this insane exercise in mayhem has arrived and it teases a movie that looks to be, for better and worse, unlike anything we’ve seen before.
Hardcore Henry (which was just called Hardcore when it made the festival rounds last year) is shot entirely from the first person POV of its title character, a mute, amnesiac cyborg who is brought back from death by his scientist wife. Things go wrong, the wife is kidnapped, and Henry must use his newly enhanced body to go on rescue mission that involves fighting his way through literal armies of criminals and mercenaries and what-have-you. It looks like it was a pain in the ass to make and the trailer utilizes a great Queen song. Oh, and there’s Sharlto Copley doing his Sharlto Copley thing. Where do we stand on Mr. Copley these days? Does anyone know?

Festival reviews of Hardcore Henry were mixed, with some critics praising its high energy, absurd action, genuinely impressive commitment to its central gimmick. Others dismissed it as vile, pointless trash made for pre-teens with too much Mountain Dew in their veins and too much Call of Duty on the brain. In any case, the film certainly looks fascinating – this is very much a product of right now. This movie simply couldn’t have existed a decade ago and it deserves a closer look.
Here’s the official synopsis:
Strap in. Hardcore Henry is one of the most unflinchingly original wild-rides to hit the big screen in a long time:  You remember nothing. Mainly because you’ve just been brought back from the dead by your wife (Haley Bennett). She tells you that your name is Henry. Five minutes later, you are being shot at, your wife has been kidnapped, and you should probably go get her back. Who’s got her? His name’s Akan (Danila Kozlovsky); he’s a powerful warlord with an army of mercenaries, and a plan for world domination. You’re also in an unfamiliar city of Moscow, and everyone wants you dead. Everyone except for a mysterious British fellow called Jimmy (Sharlto Copley.) He may be on your side, but you aren’t sure. If you can survive the insanity, and solve the mystery, you might just discover your purpose and the truth behind your identity. Good luck, Henry. You’re likely going to need it…
Hardcore Henry will play at the SXSW Film Festival next month before opening on April 8, 2016. You can check out the new poster below.

‘The Purge: Election Year’ Trailer: Politics Is the Deadliest Game of Them All

the purge 3 trailer

Writer/director James DeMonaco‘s The Purge movies have never been shy about melding politics and horror. The series’ creepy, Twilight Zone-esque elevator pitch – a near-future America legalizes all crime for one night every year – has been a vehicle to examine how corrupt systems favor the wealthy and powerful while literally leaving the poor and the helpless out on the streets. You can argue about the results (I think they’ve been pretty good), but it’s always nice to see a grisly horror series bring a little bit of actual meat to the slaughter.
The trailer for The Purge: Election Year has arrived and it looks like the next natural step forward for this series. But most importantly, Frank Grillo is back, which is the real reason to celebrate.
As the title implies, the third film moves deeper into the political realm, following Charlene Roan (Elizabeth Mitchell), a presidential nominee who has built her entire campaign on eliminating the Purge. Naturally, those in power see her as a threat and plot to have her assassinated during the Purge, which, in this universe, is literally the perfect crime. However, they didn’t count on the presence of Grillo’s Sergeant, who became Charlene’s bodyguard after surviving the events of 2014’s The Purge: Anarchy. Mayhem in and around the Washington D.C. area ensues.

And since this is a Purge movie, you can bet your severed fingers and toes that there will be outlandish costumes, creepy masks, and literal armies of bloodthirsty maniacs out to get to their murder on. Thanks to the setting, the killers this time around have taken on a more “patriotic” flavor, twisting American imagery and even borrowing a thing or two from the French (guillotines, anyone?). Even with the wider scope, The Purge: Election Year does look like just another Purge movie and you should know by now whether or not that will appeal to you in any way, shape, or form. I like these movies well enough – the blend of nasty horror and dystopian science fiction satire pushes the right buttons for me. However, the real treat is seeing Grillo back in action. His mysterious, vengeful soldier was the highlight of the previous film, lending gravitas and old school badassery to a film otherwise filled with remorseless killers and shrieking victims. Grillo is a fine actor and there are few performers I’d rather watch speak softly and carry a big weapon through an evening of bloody anarchy. The Purge: Election Year is set to open, rather appropriately, on July 1, 2014. Expanding the universe introduced in the hit franchise that electrified the culture and earned $200 million at the worldwide box office, Universal Pictures’ The Purge: Election Year reveals the next terrifying chapter that occurs over 12 hours of annual lawlessness sanctioned by the New Founders of America to keep this country great. It’s been two years since Leo Barnes (Frank Grillo) stopped himself from a regrettable act of revenge on Purge Night. Now serving as head of security for Senator Charlie Roan (Elizabeth Mitchell), his mission is to protect her in a run for president and survive the annual ritual that targets the poor and innocent. But when a betrayal forces them onto the streets of D.C. on the one night when no help is available, they must stay alive until dawn…or both be sacrificed for their sins against the state.

You can also choose between the Intel Core ‘Skylake-S’ i7-6700 or the Intel Core ‘Skylake-S’ i5-6600L SoC. For the GPU, you can choose between an 8GB Nvidia Quadro M5000M, a 4GB Nvidia Quadro M3000M, or a single 200W desktop class 4GB Nvidia GeForce GTX 980. To keep all that power tamed and avoid overheating, multiple fans have been provided under the hood.

Talking about the memory, you can either choose 16GB of DDR4 2133MHz RAM, or go up to to a whopping 64GB of DDR4 2666MHz RAM. There’s a 17.3-inch 4K (3840×2160) screen in the Sky X9W, but you can opt for a FullHD screen as well. Connectivity options include five USB 3.0 ports, one Type-C USB 3.1 port, one headphone jack, one mic jack, two Mini Display ports for powering up to four monitors, one HDMI port, and Wi-Fi.
The Eurocom Sky X9W allows you to have up to 5TB SSD storage (RAID 10 configuration). If you choose the top-of-the-line model with the maximum configuration, you will have to shell out a crazy $11,473 (around INR 775,000!), and it comes with a 3-year warranty and a carrying case. Lastly, the Sky X9W can be chosen with Windows 7, Windows 8.1, or Windows 10.

How Intel Corporation's Internet of Things Business Is Doing In 4 Numbers

Shares of Intel (NASDAQ:INTC) have already fallen about 14% in 2016 due to tepid demand for its PC chips and a slowdown in its data center business. In 2015, revenue at its Client Computing Group, which includes chips for PCs and mobile devices, slumped 8%. Its data center revenue grew 11%, but that missed the chipmaker's own target of 15% growth.

The bright spot in Intel's lackluster report was its Internet of Things (IoT) business, which was formed in 2013 to capitalize on the growth of connected devices like wearables, smart appliances, drones, and connected cars. Let's discuss four key numbers which explain how this business is doing.
1. 200 billion devices by 2020

Intel estimates that the number of connected devices will soar from 15 billion in 2015 to 200 billion by 2020. That will equal about 26 smart objects for every person in the world. This means that, in addition to PCs and mobile devices, our cars, home appliances, watches, and other gadgets will all be connected to each other and the cloud.
To capitalize on this growth, Intel developed new IoT SoCs (system on chips) with less horsepower but longer battery lives. These new products include Curie, a button-sized module for wearable devices, and Edison, an SD card-sized module which can be installed in smart appliances.

2. $0.70 microchips

However, low-power IoT modules also cost a lot less than Intel's PC and data center chips. During a Credit Suisse tech and telecom conference last December (as transcribed by Seeking Alpha), Credit Suisse analyst John Pitzer asked Intel CEO Brian Krzanich an interesting question: "Given that your average selling price is $100, and the perception is IoT is all about $0.70 microchip, how do you actually turn the profit in this business?"
Krzanich didn't deny that some of Intel's stand-alone IoT chips (not complex modules like Curie or Edison) cost $0.70, but he noted that the company would avoid ultra-low end markets like $0.05 RFID tags. He also stated that IoT chips didn't have to be profitable on their own, but that they could complement its data center business by delivering more data over the cloud to Intel-powered servers. "I look for anything that feeds the data center," said Krzanich. "And I try to feed that".
3. $2.3 billion in revenue

In 2015, Intel's IoT revenue rose 7% to $2.3 billion, compared to 19% growth in 2014. The company didn't break down those sales by individual categories, but the company noted that its retail, transportation, and video segments all posted double-digit growth. Yet the business is unlikely to become a major pillar of growth for Intel anytime soon -- it accounted for just over 4% of Intel's full year sales.
Intel's biggest competitor in the IoT module space is Qualcomm (NASDAQ:QCOM), the top mobile chipmaker in the world. To diversify away from mobile chips, Qualcomm acquired IoT chipmaker CSR for $2.4 billion last year, and expanded into new markets like connected cameras, drones, and cars. Qualcomm doesn't report its IoT sales on a quarterly basis, but it claimed to have sold $1 billion in IoT chips in 2014 during an event in San Francisco last May.
4. $515 million in operating income

While Intel's IoT revenue grew last year, the unit's operating income fell 12% to $515 million and accounted for less than 4% of Intel's operating profits. Between 2014 and 2015, its operating margin declined from 27.2% to 22.4%.
Intel didn't discuss why the unit's profitability declined, but it's likely due to competition from other chipmakers. Qualcomm's biggest mobile rival, Taiwanese chipmaker MediaTek, also started developing chips for IoT and wearables in late 2014. Since MediaTek's mobile chips are often used by low to mid-range smartphone OEMs in China, its IoT chips could spread quickly across that lucrative market. This means that market commoditization could occur in the near future.
What investors should watch

Intel often mentions its IoT, data centers, and non-volatile memory businesses in the same breath, because they represent three key ways to diversify its business beyond PCs. Unfortunately, the IoT business still doesn't generate enough revenue to cover up the growth soft spots in PCs and mobile devices. Therefore, investors should keep an eye on Intel's progress in IoT devices, but also maintain realistic expectations for its long-term growth potential.

Street Fighter V Trailer Highlights Its Various Game Modes

Street Fighter V Trailer Highlights Its Various Game Modes

However, game website Destructoid has already given their two cents on the new trailer commenting on Capcom's great ability to make awesome trailers using ordinary info.
Next up is the Story Mode which follows the story of all characters on the roster, that includes both old as well as new characters introduced in Street Fighter 5. Announced on January 29 through Capcom UK's YouTube channel, the fifth primary installment of Capcom's banner fighting game series is offering a slew of different gameplay modes beyond the typical arcade and training. Capcom also gave a brief description for each mode which you can read below. "Really, it's a new starting point where we're going to be constantly supporting this for the next six, seven years, like we did with 'Street Fighter IV, '" said Ono to GameSpot. It certainly sounds a helluva lot better than the usual selection of slides that bookend each character's quest through arcade mode, or hastily drawn anime sequences. In this mode, players will take control of Ryu to learn the basics of combat and the game's control methods.
You can check out the trailer that covers each mode via the Street Fighter YouTube account. The costumes can be unlocked either with the in-game fight money or via the cash shop using real money. As the name suggests, Survival Mode will pit player against a wave of opponents with particular guidelines and restrictions. Survival Mode also has extra battle features that allow players to boost their EX Gauge and score. "Remember, practice is key to elevating yourself above the competition". Once you know who you'd want to fight or where you stand, you can head into a Network Battle for a Casual or Ranked Match. Several of the modes are a direct response to previous criticisms of the Street Fighter franchise, for instance no introduction for new players, limited story, and a lack of tutorial options.
Speaking to VentureBeat, Street Fighter V producer Yoshinoro Ono expressed a desire to "put [its] efforts into something genuine" like the one found in Mortal Kombat X. Users can search for specific players with rival search and view replays.
The new Street Fighter boasts of 16 unique fighters packaged with their own unique goals, destinies and assigned mysteries which the player must unravel.

DiRT Rally shows off polished physics in new gameplay trailer

dirt rally game renault clio

February promises to be an interesting old month for game releases, but what of April? Well, for rally enthusiasts look no further, because DiRT Rally is finally revving up for its official release.
Developed by motorsport game legends Codemasters alongside Koch Media, the two companies have released a new PC gameplay trailer, which showcases the title’s motion and destruction physics, alongside the some of the current cars available.
And more content promises to be added alongside Steam’s Early Access preview.
“New Classic Mini and Super 1600 series will introduce the thrills of rallycross racing from the start of the game and 21 advanced rally driving video guides will help gamers maximise their rallying performance,” notes the press release.
“Players will be able to drive the vintage full gravel surface at Pikes Peak for the first time in the game and three of Colin McRae’s most iconic liveries will enable them to relive the exploits of a legendary rally champion.”
Speaking of Colin McRae, a Legendary Edition of the title will include a documentary focusing on the iconic Scot’s life and career.
It’s the third rally title we’ve seen in the past six months, with WRC5 debuting late last year, and Sebastien Loeb Rally EVO hitting circuits last week. But DiRT Rally is definitely the game harbouring the most hype of the three.
It will officially launch on PC (DVD), PlayStation 4 and Xbox One on 5 April 2016. But until then, enjoy some flying mud, snow and errant bodywork in the trailer below.

Insomniac's Next Game Is Song of the Deep: First Trailer

Insomniac Games has announced its next project. It's called Song of the Deep, and it's adorable!

Insomniac Games, the developer behind Spyro, Ratchet & Clank, Resistance, and Sunset Overdrive, has announced its next project: a little submarine exploration game called Song of the Deep. This brings the company's list of projects to three—a new Ratchet & Clank game and an Oculus-exclusive title called Edge of Nowhere are also due out in 2016.
Check out the first trailer for Song of the Deep:

The game mixes underwater exploration, combat, and puzzle solving. Brian Hastings, CCO at Insomniac, described Song of the Deep as being in the "metroidvania style," in a blog post. The game tells the story of a girl named Merryn, who has built a makeshift submarine and launched into the Atlantic to find her fisherman father, who has gone missing.
Song of the Deep is being published in conjunction with video game retail giant GameStop, which is taking its first step into game publishing. While the game will be available digitally on Xbox Live, PSN, and Steam for $15, physical copies will only be sold at GameStop. Insomniac made it clear, though, that GameStop had no creative input in their game.
Song of the Deep is out this summer.

Lego Star Wars game teaser lovingly mocks 'Force Awakens' trailer

Remember all the obsession and excitement as new teasers and trailers emerged for "Star Wars: The Force Awakens"? The movie opened in December, but many spent the months prior poring over details of Stormtroopers standing in formation and the Millennium Falcon rocketing through the air. Lego hasn't forgotten about that hype.
A new teaser for the upcoming Lego Star Wars: The Force Awakens game takes the form of a sweet parody of the first movie trailer. It starts off with a sandy landscape and the deeply intoned voiceover: "There has been an awakening. Have you felt it?" A sweating Lego minifig version of Finn pops up holding an alarm clock, our first indication that the teaser is going to verge into the surreal.
Following the pattern laid out by the movie trailer, we next move into a scene with BB-8 rolling along. Instead of looking like typical desert planet Jakku in the background, the adorable rolling droid crashes into a beach vacation scene with a sand castle and lounge chair on display.

The Lego trailer, which dropped Tuesday, even gives us an Ithorian cameo, a shout-out to the franchise's old-school aliens. Ithorians have the long hammerhead-style noggins.
The game teaser is a nearly shot-for-shot parody that shows the off-kilter humor found in the Lego games franchise. Rey's Landspeeder has a "BB on board" bumper sticker. The Lego X-wing fighter pilot has a problem with his radio, windshield wipers and a rogue toaster.
A small cottage industry popped up last year to deliver "Force Awakens" parody trailers to hungry fans. "The Binks Awakens" gave us a horrifying vision of a Jar-Jar Binks-filled movie. A US Navy crew spoofed the original trailer with a creative short film called "Sea Wars: The Ike Awakens." And don't forget the trailer filled to the brim with the previously missing Luke Skywalker.
Whether or not you're a gamer, the Lego teaser has plenty to keep Star Wars fans amused. The video game is due out June 28 for Xbox, PlayStation, Wii U, Windows and Nintendo 3DS.

The real 'Airlift': Air India's rescue mission in Kuwait won it a place in Guinness Records

While a debate rages on about the veracity of events depicted in new Bollywood flick Airlift on India's massive evacuation efforts in war-ravaged Kuwait, a former Air India official said it was carried out with 'clock-work precision' and made it to the Guinness World Records.
"The film Airlift has brought the evacuation of over 117,000 Indians residing in Kuwait once again on the centre stage after 25 years. How did the feat get listed as a record in the Guinness Book makes for an interesting reading," said former Air India (AI) executive director Jitender Bhargava in a Facebook post on Tuesday.
Bhargava said as head of AI's Public Relations, he would issue daily media statements about the number of flights that were operated in the past 24 hours, the number of stranded passengers safety brought from Amman in Jordan to various Indian cities, the next day's plans of flight operations, etc.
"Since it wasn't the era of Google which enables one to source information easily, I walked from my office in Air India building to the book store in Eros Cinema complex near Churchgate in Mumbai, picked up a copy of the Guinness Book of World Records to access the address of the editor/publisher of Guinness book," he recalled.
Armed with that, he posted (the world didn't know e-mails then) a letter to the Guinness editor enquiring if any record of evacuation by a civil airliner existed.
A fortnight later, Guinness editor replied through a letter that it did not have a record in their books, Bhargava said.
Meanwhile, the evacuation continued briskly with AI deploying as many aircraft as possible and even the now-merged entity, the domestic carrier Indian Airlines, and Indian Air Force extending a helping hand with their aircraft to bolster capacity to meet the growing demand.
"After the evacuation operation was completed, I sent a comprehensive letter to Guinness providing details of total number of passengers carried, flights operated, duration of the entire exercise, etc. Guinness accepted the record and duly intimated us through a letter," Bhargava said.
Then, there was a long waiting period and it was only after a few months that the new edition of the Guinness Book of World Records was published with Air India's achievements duly listed.
"I once again walked to the same book store from where I had sourced the Guinness address to buy a copy of the book for our company's archives," Bhargava recalls with a smile.
AI's achievement is still a part of historical records, a feat performed between 13 August - 11 October, 1990.
More than 170,000 Indians were stranded in Kuwait at that time and AI operated some 488 flights to evacuate them from Amman to Mumbai, a distance of more than 4,000 km.
The massive operation was conducted during the Persian Gulf War and helped evacuate Indians living in Kuwait and Iraq.
