Xiaomi unveils Redmi 3 with metal design; packs 4100mAh battery, 13MP rear camera

Kick-starting 2016 with a new smartphone, Xiaomi has unveiled its latest Redmi 3 that boasts of a new diamond-patterned metal design and a mammoth battery.
At 144g light, the Redmi 3 measures 8.55mm and features a 5-inch display. The phone is powered by a 64-bit Snapdragon 616 processor with 2 GB of RAM and includes 13 megapixel rear camera and a 5 megapixel front camera. 

 

It includes 16 GB internal storage with an option for memory expansion up to 128 GB via microSD card.
One of the highlights of the phone is its bumper 4,100mAh battery with fast charge technology.
The Android smartphone is based on MIUI 7 and comes with a dual hybrid SIM slot, which means it could house either two SIM cards at once or one SIM card and a memory card.
It is available in three colour choices in both diamond-pattern and solid colour design.
The Redmi 3 is currently available China-only and is priced at CNY 699 (approx. Rs 7,142) with an expected rollout in other nations.
