Samsung ATIV Book 9 Pro vs MacBook Pro vs Microsoft Surface Book: Specs, Features Detailed - Apple's MacBook Pro and Microsoft's Surface Book have managed to impress both the reviewers as well as the customers and now Samsung has launched the ATIV Book 9 Pro to challenge the two devices.


The display of ATIV Book 9 Pro is bigger than the 13.5-inch Surface Book and Retina MacBook Pro. With a 4K resolution of 3,840x2160 pixels, it beats the 15-inch Retina MacBook Pro at 2,880x1,800 and Surface Book at 3,000 x 2,000 pixels.
The ATIV Book 9 Pro comes loaded with a sixth-generation Intel Core i7 6700HQ processor, paired with 8GB of RAM and integrates an optional NVIDIA GeForce GTX 950M graphics card.
It is notable that the lower-end Surface Book has a sixth-generation Intel Core i5 coupled with 8GB of RAM, while its higher-end counterpart is equipped with Intel Core i7 and 16GB RAM.
The MacBook Pro is powered by a a dual-core Intel Core i5 for the low- end device and high-end being the 15-inch MacBook Pro, which powers on an Intel Core i7 processor. A 16GB of RAM is included in both the device.
Samsung ATIV Book 9 Pro runs Windows 10 Home while the Surface Book has Windows pro version along with a 30-day free trial of Microsoft Office 365 productivity subscription service. Apple's MacBook Pro runs OS X 10.
The dimensions of ATIV Book 9 Pro and 15-inch MacBook pro are almost similar. The former has 14.72 x 9.83 x 0.70 inches, while the latter has 14.41 x 9.73 x 0.71 inches. ATIV weighs 4.45-pound which is a lighter than the MacBook Pro.
Surface Book being the laptop-cum-tablet weighs just 3.34-pound and measures 12.3 x 9.14 x 0.51 to 0.9 inches. The 13-inch MacBook Pro measures 12.35 x 8.62 x 0.71 inches.
Samsung claims that ATIV can deliver up to 6.5 hours of performance on a single charge in comparison with the 15.4-inch MacBook Pro that lasts up to 9 hours.
